Discover the Magic of Lazio with My One-of-a-Kind 7-Day Tour

Tired of the standard holidays that make you miss the real Italy? My tour will show you the authentic side of the Lazio region, the best-kept secrets hiding around Rome. An enriching experience rather than just a tour.

One of the things that makes me think twice before booking a packaged tour is the fear of spending money and yet not being able to see and experience the genuine spirit of the country I’m visiting. The very vibe that makes a trip memorable.

My Discover Lazio tour is not for everyone. In a week, I will show you the most authentic side of the region around Rome, its crafts, dishes, architecture and stunning villas. All things that most travelers miss.

A tour that no one else has designed.

That’s right. Despite so many important monuments, stunning palaces, and charming medieval views, there are no multi-day tours to explore the Lazio region.

Day-by-day plan

DAY 1

On the first day, we will visit the quaint town of Anagni, known as the City of Popes for being the birthplace of not one but four popes, nonetheless. After a traditional meal in Anagni, we make our way to a local winery for an engaging and one-of-a-kind pasta-making cooking class paired with wine and oil tasting and followed by a winery tour and local dinner.

DAY 2

The second day will start with a peaceful stroll around the dream-like garden of a 16th-century aristocratic villa. After lunch, we will explore the medieval walled town of Viterbo, wander its picturesque alleys, and visit the Palace of the Popes, where the first Conclave of history took place.

DAY 3

We are going to start the third day at work to produce our very first piece of Viterbo-style ceramics with a renowned local ceramist artist. After lunch, a historian and certified tour guide will show us around a wonderful villa belonging to a former Roman patrician family.

DAY 4

The fourth day will be entirely devoted to the pre-Roman sophisticated Etruscan civilization. Our expert archaeologist and certified tour guide will show you the most important Etruscan necropolises of the Lazio region and all of Italy.

DAY 5

We will kick off the fifth day in a wonderful, mysterious park where our tour guide will reveal everything about these bizarre gardens known as the park of monsters. For lunch and the afternoon, we will head to a picturesque medieval town and the only place in the world that hosts a Moai entirely built out of Easter Island! In the evening, we will enjoy the sunset in the scenic “dying city” of the Lazio region.

DAY 6

On the sixth day, we will start bright and early with a peaceful walk along the banks of Bolsena Lake before our driver will whisk us to the nearby scenic town of Montefiascone for a guided tour. After a gourmet lunch, we will rejuvenate with an immersive walk in nature in the Cimini mountains. This is also where we will have the scrumptious last dinner of our trip and raise a glass to our time together in the Tuscia Viterbese.

DAY 7

On the last day, after breakfast, we will head back to Rome, but not before collecting the ceramic plate we made during the workshop of day three!

But what if I don’t want to miss Rome?

You don’t have to! My Discover Lazio Tour starts and ends in Rome, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore the city before or after the trip. Think of this tour as a way to deepen your Rome experience. These aren’t random excursions. They tie directly into Roman history and culture.

I’m here for culture, not just scenery. Will I find that?

Absolutely! In this tour, Rome puts aside its centrality only for a week but we are going to explore towns and villages that have been pivotal to Rome’s destiny and history.

I don’t want to spend more time on a bus than exploring.

I get it. That’s why I have curated short, comfortable trips—no more than 1–1.5 hours away. You’ll travel in smaller groups, avoid long hauls, and spend more time experiencing, not commuting.

But wait, there’s more.

  • You won’t be dragged by never-ending crowds
  • You can take your time to enjoy the Italian dolce vita
  • You will discover secret places and important landmarks
  • You will enjoy an experiential journey rather than passive sightseeing
